Goodbye
Dearest,
How long has it been since I've known your name?
How long has it been that we've played this game?
I cannot bear to be near you like this,
Full-knowing there's a wall between me and Bliss.
Can I tell you how I truly feel,
How in my heart I wish this could be real.
For days and years go by and I still think of you...
Just seeing you here is like dream come true.
But like all dreams, this one must end,
So I have time this broken heart to mend.
Yes, I know that dreams are dreams
Our imagination torn at the seams.
I'm so afraid of holding on too long,
Because inside I'm afraid I'm wrong,
For should I tell you how I feel inside,
Let Truth's door be open wide;
You'll walk away and leave me feeling bad,
In fact I think I might go mad.
To lose your friendship is my worst fear
Because I'll be loosing one I hold dear.
So I'm writing this to simply say goodbye,
To all my feelings that have kept me asking "Why?".
I have to do this and walk away,
Because I know I'll forget you one day.
My dear, you know that this is true,That this silly girl can't be with you.
We're better off going our own way
and never meet again, I pray.
Because its hard enough you see,
To try and forget about you and me.
