true love

True love is based on four elements: need, caring, trust and tolerance.
Need is the easy part. When somebody makes your palms sweat and your heart pound, you naturally feel an intense need to be with that person and have him or her respond favorably toward you. But while the thrills and chills are exciting, by themselves they don't qualify as love. Caring gets a little trickier, but it's similar to need. You care about what is happening in the other person's life. Still, other components must be added. Trust helps you to begin to separate infatuation from mature love. The more vital issue is: Can you be trusted with each other's emotions? Can you be counted on to listen to each other, to share vulnerabilities, not consciously hurt each other and seek only the best for each other even if that means personal sacrifice? Tolerance sees the truth—weaknesses, imperfections, idiosyncracies—and decides to commit anyway.
